Read more about it here

Founded on March 27, 1896, the New Jersey Alpha chapter at Stevens Institute of Technology is the fourth oldest chapter of Tau Beta Pi. We not only represent the top students in our class, but also excellence in service to our community and involvement on campus. Undergraduate students looking to become a member of Tau Beta Pi must have a high academic standing. For juniors, their scholarship must place them in the top eighth, while seniors must be in the top fifth of their engineering class in their last college year in order to be eligible for membership consideration.

What is Tau Beta Pi?

Tau Beta Pi is the only engineering honor society representing the entire engineering profession. It is the nation's second-oldest honor society, founded at Lehigh University in 1885 to mark in a fitting manner those who have conferred honor upon their Alma Mater by distinguished scholarship and exemplary character as students in engineering, or by their attainments as alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges.
